PRESS RELEASE FORMAT & SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Send your complete release directly via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org only to be sure it gets directly to CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE- releases sent via FaceBook, Twitter or to other e-mail addresses might not be seen and often are not acceptable since they are normally incomplete and unusally in an unusuable format for easy use on a web page.
All cabaret related and complete items are included on the CABARET EVENT LISTINGS pages on the website. And since we try to include all items up to 3 weeks out, please send your releases in at least 4 weeks in advance of your event to get the most coverage. Advertised events are added to the website first and run as long as the ad is running; then member events are added - then additional events for which we have received press releases if time permits. Additional events posted on cabaret venue calendars for which no release has been received will be added the day of the event if time permits.
Remember: your press release must be cabaret related and complete. For ease in editing, we prefer you send in TXT format rather than html, .doc or .pdf. A copy of a flier in any format is not usable. CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE reserves the right to edit all releases and ignore releases it deems not suitable for our website and newsletter.
Your press release should include: Title of show, dates & times of performance(s), venue (including address, reservation phone number and website URL), performer's name(s), musical director, director, cover charge & minimum, plus a short description of the show and short bio of the principal performer(s). Send to my e-mail address at email@example.com . A headshot jpg sent as an attachment (not imbeded in the release) is recommended, since it will attract more readers to your item.
A flier or a simple website link is not a press release!
When submitting releases, please remember that your news item only appears in the weekly CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE newsletter if you are a current member of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE and/or are running an ad on the website and/or are offering a discount to other members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE. Advertised items appear in every issue of the newsletter while the ad is running, and members offering discounts to other members will have their item mentioned in the Friday MEMBERS ONLY issue up to 10 days before event.
SPECIAL NOTE - AS OF APRIL 1, 2015: To save time, and allow CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE to concentrate on more cabaret events around the world, we are no longer including listings of events in the jazz clubs in NYC, Boston, Toronto and the Mid-Atlantic States - unless there is a specific cabaret event presented (i.e. Broadway At Birdland Series). or a performance by a MEMBER of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
