) on Tuesday, April 8th at 7:00 pm; Friday, April 11th at 9:00 pm;
and Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00 pm. The show is a tuneful and playful
look at the first year of marriage and the frustrations, confrontations
and compromises it entails. Once again, Paul Chamlin digs deep into
his eclectic song collection, bringing forth a slew of under-utilized
musical theater gems Ð including two of the loveliest duets you may
never have heard.
Rochelle Breyer, a classically-trained soprano, continues
to hone her cabaret chops as she joins Paul for another funny, fast-paced
evening filled with the timeless music and lyrics of such master
songwriters as Comden and Green, Jule Styne, Charles Strouse, Ervin
Drake, Arthur Schwartz, Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, Irving Berlin,
Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, and more.
Rochelle Breyer has performed as a soloist and professional
vocalist with groups such as the Choral Symphony Society and the
Philadelphia Oratorio Society, as well as many church and synagogue
choirs including Temple Emanu-el in New York City. Opera appearances
include Elsa in Lohengrin and The First Lady in The Magic Flute.
Paul Chamlin has been an integral part of the New
York musical scene for over 20 years, were he has served as Musical
Director and pianist for hundreds of cabaret shows and concerts.
Paul is Musical Director for the semi-annual FriarÕs Club Divo and
Diva Nights, featuring Len Cariou, Anita Gillette, Sal Viviano,
Beth Leavel, Brad Oscar, and Sidney Myer, among many others. In
addition to private teaching and coaching, Paul works with singers
in workshops and performance classes throughout the city. Paul has
an extensive knowledge of musical theater repertoire Ð with a particular
fondness for little-known gems. Additionally, Paul is a classically-trained
baritone and sings professionally at the Cathedral of St. John the
Divine.
There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
