RICHARD MALAVET SINGS "IT'S YOU OR NO ONE"
Richard Malavet opens his cabaret/jazz show, "It's You or No One," on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - http://www.metropolitanroom.com/ ). Additional performances are scheduled for Tuesday, April 22nd & 29th, also at 7:00 pm. The show features an eclectic mix of favorite pop standards, Latin and jazz tunes by composers as varied as Frank Loesser to Stevie Wonder and a few Spanish boleros. Richard will be joined on stage by a quartet of musicians including his long-standing music director, arranger and accompanist, Ross Patterson; Tom Hubbard (Bass); and David B. Meade (Drums) with guest artist Beledo (Spanish Guitar). Lina Koutrakos directs.

A timeless artist, Richard Malavet, transcends musical styles ranging from the golden era of crooners to today's contemporary rhythms. Richard has been delighting audiences with his silky and commanding baritone voice for several years, performing at such noteworthy NYC cabaret venues as Judy's, Eighty Eight's, Don't Tell Mama, Danny's Skylight Room, Mama Rose, Encore and The Laurie Beechman Theater as well as around the country.

Bilingual and multi-talented, Malavet offers the best from the Great American Songbook standards and pop/R&B classics to Latin songs. His debut CD, Who Can Say What Love Is?, was released in 2005 to critical acclaim as an eclectic and inspiring work. This show will be recorded for a future live CD release.

There is a $20 cover charge and a $15 minimum.
