RICHARD MALAVET SINGS "IT'S YOU OR NO ONE"
Richard Malavet opens his cabaret/jazz show, "It's You or No One,"
on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West

). Additional performances are scheduled for Tuesday, April 22nd &
29th, also at 7:00 pm. The show features an eclectic mix of favorite
pop standards, Latin and jazz tunes by composers as varied as Frank
Loesser to Stevie Wonder and a few Spanish boleros. Richard will be
joined on stage by a quartet of musicians including his long-standing
music director, arranger and accompanist, Ross Patterson; Tom Hubbard
(Bass); and David B. Meade (Drums) with guest artist Beledo (Spanish
Guitar). Lina Koutrakos directs.
A timeless artist, Richard Malavet, transcends musical
styles ranging from the golden era of crooners to today's contemporary
rhythms. Richard has been delighting audiences with his silky and
commanding baritone voice for several years, performing at such
noteworthy NYC cabaret venues as Judy's, Eighty Eight's, Don't Tell
Mama, Danny's Skylight Room, Mama Rose, Encore and The Laurie Beechman
Theater as well as around the country.
Bilingual and multi-talented, Malavet offers the
best from the Great American Songbook standards and pop/R&B classics
to Latin songs. His debut CD, Who Can Say What Love Is?, was released
in 2005 to critical acclaim as an eclectic and inspiring work. This
show will be recorded for a future live CD release.
There is a $20 cover charge and a $15 minimum.
