NYC cabaret artist Angela Shultz presents the various souls who dwell
within the songs of Brett Kristofferson in their show "Closer Than
You Think: The Songs of Brett Kristofferson" on Sunday, March 2nd
at 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 4 at 9:00 pm and Wednesday, March 12th

Award-winning songwriter and performer Hector Coris directs.
Grieving mothers, angry teenagers, hopeful lovers,
anxious bachelors - all these people and more represent the lives
illustrated in a showcase of songs bursting with keen insight into
the human condition. They are all given voice on stage by Angela
Shultz who made her NYC cabaret debut with The Whole Wide World
in 2007.
There is a $12 cover charge plus a 2-drink minimum.

Brett Kristofferson is a composer/lyricist whose work
has been heard in numerous venues around New York City, including
The Duplex, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Don't Tell Mama, Rose's
Turn, Manhattan Theatre Source, and Astoria Performing Arts Center
(APAC). For the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan,
he musical directed Carnival, Into the Woods, Bat Boy and Gypsy.
Other favorite gigs include the revue Bed, Boys and Beyond (Cast
album: Dink Records) and Slut! The Musical (developmental reading).
His song, "The Whole Wide World" was nominated for Song of the Year
by the Manhattan Association of Cabaret and Clubs (MAC).
Angela Shultz is a Missouri native and an active performer
in both music and theatre realms. Favorite roles include: Bat Boy
(Ruthie), Nunsense (various), The Secret Garden (Martha), Godspell
(Joanne) and Woman 2 in Closer Than Ever. In addition, she was a
voice teacher for Fontbonne University and Jefferson College in
MO. Angela holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and an
MA in Theatre Education. She has performed in master classes with
Barbara Cook, Sally Mayes, Lina Koutrakos and Rick Jensen.
Hector Coris is a multiple-award winning songwriter and performer,
having recently debuted his latest musical comedy revue, What's The
Point?! now playing through March 31st at The Reprise Room. Previous
original revues include Not Me! and What's Your Problem?! Hector has
appeared on nearly every cabaret stage in NYC - most notably in Rene
Foss' Around the World in a Bad Mood and Rick Crom's Our Life & Times
(MAC & BISTRO Awards). His directing credits include the first ever
NYC revival of Bring Back Birdie (2007 MAC Award nomination), Under
the Influence, and the upcoming first NYC revival of The Best Little
Whorehouse Goes Public for Opening Doors Theatre Company. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets
and Clubs (MAC). He is the recipient of the Jeff Matson Award, given
by Cabaret Hotline, for his outstanding contributions to NYC cabaret.
