MILES PHILLIPS BRINGS QUIET STARS BACK FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY
Miles Phillips brings his acclaimed show QUIET STARS, which opened in the fall of 2007, back to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - http://www.metropolitanroom.com/ ) for one night only on Saturday, March 1st at 5:00 pm. QUIET STARS is a passionate foray into the "Songs of the Night." Miles is teamed again with his longtime Musical Director, 2007 MAC Award winning composer, Jason Wynn.

The diverse collection of songwriters represented in the show include: Kate Bush, Meredith Wilson, The Rolling Stones, Carlisle Floyd, Bronski Beat, Frank Loesser, Sergio Mendes, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Mark Campbell, Steve Marzullo, Tracy Stark, Patsy Cline, Cy Coleman, The Bee Gees, Stephen Sondheim, Bock & Harnick, Kander & Ebb, Herrmann & Harman, Rodgers & Hammerstein and, of course, Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Miles Phillips is a multiple award-winning actor, director, nightclub vocalist and recording artist with credits from Honolulu to London. He has countless leading New York and regional theatre roles, numerous film and television appearances, a popular solo album and a score of original and studio cast recordings to his credit, including his current critically acclaimed turn as Robert in a new cast recording of COMPANY. He's been honored with the Hollywood Drama-Logue Award and Chicago's Jeff Award for his work as an actor.

His directorial ventures range from regional companies to New York theatre and cabaret. He recently directed BEN RAUCH IS HORACE VANDERVEER, CAROL CHANNING IN CONCERT STARRING RICHARD SKIPPER, JONATHAN WHITTON AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN and has been nominated for multiple projects as Outstanding Director by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, including the MAC Award-winning ROB LANGEDER - BROADWAY REVIVAL and JASON WYNN - NOT THE SAME OLD @#$%. Miles costarred with some of Broadway's brightest in THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1930. As a nightclub vocalist, Miles has been honored with the MAC Hanson Award and named a finalist in the category of Outstanding Cabaret Male Vocalist at the Nightlife Awards in 2004 (THE UNREST INSIDE ME) and 2006 (SPECIFIC OVERTURES).

There is a $20 cover plus a 2-beverage minimum.
