Yorker, who spent her early youth devoted to training in classical
voice, piano and dance.
Luba was tapped by Ruben Blades as a guest vocalist
on his 2003 Grammy Award-winning CD Mundo, for which she earned
critical acclaim by the LA Times, who hailed her vocals on the Irish
classic ÒDanny BoyÓ as ÒcelestialÓ. Earlier this year, Mason was
a featured guest on the new NBC primetime series, RAINES opposite
Jeff Goldblum.
Luba starred on Broadway in the musical Chicago as
Velma Kelly. Previously, Luba earned starring roles on Broadway
in Jekyll & Hyde, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
(opposite Matthew Broderick), Paul SimonÕs The Capeman, Trevor NunnÕs
Sunset Boulevard and the Tony winning The Will Rogers Follies, directed
by Tommy Tune.
Recently, she starred opposite Val Kilmer in the American
premiere of The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
She is has perfomed her cabaret show to sold out audiences at Los
Angeles' famed Cinegrill as well as Opia and Cafe Versilles in New
York in 2006. In 2007 The Collage Tour played multiple performances
at Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles, The EXIT Theatre in San Francisco
and Davenport's in Chicago. Steve Murray of Cabaret Scenes Magazine
calls her show "sexy, fun and new".
Drawing from her Slovak roots, classical training,
Broadway background and integrated pop, jazz and Latin rhythmsÕs
sensibility, Luba Mason has created a debut recording that accurately
reflects her high energy and eclectic nature. Visit LubaMason.com
