PALM SPRINGS: LES MICHAELS PRESENTS MURRAY & TATHAM

Les Michaels presents the first of a series of "Life Is a Cabaret" events on Saturday, October 11th at 8:00 pm at ANNENBERG THEATRE at the PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM (101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs, CA - 760-325-4490 - http://www.psmuseum.org/ ) with Todd Murray and Joanne Tatham in concert.

Todd Murray's debut CD "When I Sing Low" garnered much praise including Talkin' Broadway's Top Ten Vocal CD's of 2002 while OUT Magazine named him on their Cabaret Singers Hot List. His numerous performances include The Mabel Mercer Cabaret Conventions at Palm Springs' Annenberg Theater and New York's Lincoln Center as well as NY's Metropolitan Room, Broadway By The Year - 1935 at The Town Hall, and the famed Cinegrill in Hollywood. He toured in the first Broadway tour of The Secret Garden, starred Off-Broadway in The Gondoliers, and productions at The Papermill Playhouse. His newest CD Stardust and Swing, was recorded in Capitol Record's famed Studio A with full brass and string arrangements of American standards, original pieces, and duets with guest artists Douglas Sills and Marilyn Maye.

Joanne Tatham is a rising star on the jazz and cabaret scene with recent appearances in Los Angeles at Vibrato, The Baked Potato, Gardenia, and Hollywood Cinegrill; The Plush Room in San Francisco; her show Chester featuring the music of Jimmy Van Heusen at The Duplex in New York; and Mabel Mercer Cabaret Conventions in New York and Palm Springs. She trained at the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, CT. and has performed Off-Broadway, including a season with the Light Opera of Manhattan. Her debut CD Making Light received rave reviews. in The Washington Post, Penthouse Magazine, and many others. It includes You Can't Hold Me Back which is featured on the soundtrack of the award-winning feature film Roger Dodger starring Campbell Scott and Isabella Rossellini.
