VALERIE SNEADE CELEBRATES RELEASE OF HER NEW CD

Award winning singer/actress Valerie Sneade, native of North Grafton, MA, is pleased to announce a concert to celebrate the release of her debut CD at STAGELOFT REPARATORY THEATRE (450 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA - 508-347-9005) on June 3rd & 4th at 8:00 pm, June 5th at 2:00 pm. The CD "Let Me Be Strong" is an eclectic mix of music ranging from Broadway and standards to jazz to soft rock. Ms. Sneade will perform songs from her CD as well as excerpts from her critically acclaimed one-woman shows including The American Idol Medley and The Marni Nixon Tribute. Ms. Sneade will be backed by a four-piece band led by music director Jim Rice. Tickets are $15.

Ms. Sneade, after gaining notoriety and building a large fan base in New England, moved to Florida two years ago to be closer to her mother. The area of southwest Florida to which she moved was devastated by hurricanes last summer. Additionally, the theatre in which she had originally booked her Florida CD release concert (The Cultural Center Theatre) was badly damaged by "Hurricane Charley" and the theatre was shut down for 5 months. Though Ms. Sneade lost an opportunity to perform her CD release concert in Florida, she decided to take matters in her own hands volunteering her performing and producing talents as a vehicle to raise money for hurricane victims in her area. She and her then fiance (now husband, Ed Loder) put together a major benefit concert on September 26, 2004. Ironically the day of the concert another hurricane named "Jeanne" came ashore. Nevertheless storm battered Floridians flocked to support Sneade's cause. For a mere $7 a ticket, the benefit concert raised over $5,000 for hurricane victims.
