Lorraina Marro Celebrates the Release of Her Debut CD

Whether you're into jazz, Broadway, the blues or Latin music, you're sure to enjoy the diversity of Lorraina Marro's long-awaited debut CD entitled "You Must Believe in Spring" released in March at a CD release party at the CATALINA BAR & GRILL (6725 West Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA - 323-466-2210). In addition to the lyrically beautiful "You Must Believe in Spring" (Alan & Marilyn Bergman/Michel Legrand), her CD includes such favorites as "Soon," (George & Ira Gershwin); "If Ever I Would Leave You," (Lerner & Lowe); "Music," (a contemporary jazz samba by Ann Hampton Callaway); and "Id Rather Talk About You" (a blues number written by jazz vocalist Rene Marie).

Lorraina began her singing career as a young child, performing for family and neighbors upon request. Later, she became the lead vocalist in a Top 40 band, primarily performing for private parties, weddings and corporate functions. After getting married and having two children, Lorraina put her career on hold to spend time with her family. After yearning to return to the stage and share her talents with the public once again, Lorraina resumed her career in the mid-90Ős.

Since resuming her career, Lorraina has performed her own show in multiple venues in Los Angeles, including The Cinegrill at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel; The Gardenia and The Jazz Spot at the Los Feliz Restaurant. Ms. Marro made her Las Vegas debut in January 2003 at the Four Seasons Hotel at a special benefit for The Special Operations Warriors Foundation; and was asked to return again in November at The Aladdin Hotel, together with Amanda McBroom. She was chosen as a semi-finalist when she made her San Francisco debut in April 2003 at the Cabaret Competition. Lorraina was also selected as one of only 25 participants in the Mercer/Sundance Theatre Program at the Sundance Institute in Utah in August 2003, with master teachers Alan & Marilyn Bergman; Betty Buckley; Malcom Getts; Carol Hall & Margaret Whiting.
