MELODY BREYER-GRELL RELEASES NEW CD AT SWEET RHYTHM

Melody Breyer-Grell will celebrate the release of her new CD, "THE RIGHT TIME" (Blujazz - http://blujazz.com/ ) at the renowned jazz club, SWEET RHYTHM (88 Seventh Avenue South, NYC - 212-255-3626 - http://www.sweetrhythmny.com/ ), on Tuesday, November 9th, with two sets at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. New York based Melody has worked with some of the finest jazz musicians the city has to offer, including Gloria Cooper (piano), John Hart (guitar) Noah Bloom (trumpet) Neil Miner (bass), Andy Watson (drums) & Kahlill Kwame Bell (percussion), all featured on her new CD. For this show, Breyer-Grell includes Cooper, Hart & Bloom, with Tal Ronin on bass & Yoni Halevy on drums. There is a $15 music charge and a $10 minimum.

Melody's theatrical background is responsible for her bent towards telling stories. Born in New York City & raised in Long Beach, Long Island, she was deemed a "natural" singer & was at the Manhattan School of Music at 12 years of age. Show tunes & classical were her first introductions to music, but she soon discovered "The Great American Songbook," voraciously listening to the late, great WNEW & WQEW. When she started to seriously listen to jazz, she realized she had found a vehicle for her natural style of phrasing & interpretation.
