JOANNE
TATHAM COMPLETES DEBUT CD

"Making
Light," the debut recording from rising Los Angeles-based vocalist
Joanne Tatham, has hit the ground running, with two cuts already chosen
for the sound tracks of high profile independent feature films and
selections going into rotation this fall on Southern California radio
stations.
Last year,
even before the album was complete, an original song penned for the
project by Barry Coffing and Julius Robinson, partners in Uprising
Entertainment, was plucked for inclusion on the sound track of the
independent feature release Roger Dodger, starring Campbell Scott
and Isabella Rossellini. The film, the debut of writer/dIrector Dylan
Kidd, went on to take the top prize at the first Tribeca Film Festival,
Robert DeNiro's two-year-old New York-based event. Another tune from
the album will be featured on the sound track of the upcoming independent
release "29 and Holding."
This fall,
two selections, "My Old Flame" and "Wave," go into rotation on KSURF
540 and 1260 AM in Los Angeles and San Diego. In addition, Tatham
is a finalist in 570 KLAC's Fabulous Finds competition, designed to
provide exposure for unsigned artists whose repertoire reflects the
Clear Channel radio station's Great American Songbook format.
Tatham had
been a singer/actress in New York with regional and off-Broadway credits
before relocating to Los Angeles and emerging two years ago as a popular
cabaret and club singer. She has quickly established a following in
Southern California, playing The Baked Potato, The Cinegrill and The
Gardenia. Her recent appearances also include The Plush Room in San
Francisco and The Annenberg Theater in Palm Springs, as part of The
Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Convention. She will make her New
York cabaret debut at The Duplex in November.
The recording,
a mix of standards and original tunes, was produced by Coffing, an
award-winning singer/songwriter/producer, with Robinson acting as
executive producer along with Tatham. Tracks were recorded in Los
Angeles at Studio 56/Radio Recorders, Cello Studios and Steve Tyrell's
Studios.
While the
producers consider independent label deals, "Making Light" is available
for purchase online at the artist's website at http://www.joannetatham.com/.
