REBECCA SPENCER RELEASES DEBUT SOLO CD

Rebecca Spencer, one of Broadway's best kept secrets, has teamed with Philip Fortenberry, Broadway's most sought after pianist, to create "Wide Awake and Dreaming," a hypnotic and sensual recording offering fresh interpretations of sophisticated songs driven by the strength of the lyric. The CD, released on the LML Music (http://www.lmlmusic.com/) label, is available now, and will be distributed in stores nationally beginning in June.

Ms. Spencer starred in several roles as an original Broadway cast member of "Jekyll and Hyde," and also starred as Carlotta in the Hamburg, Germany company of Webber's "Phantom of the Opera." She has been a soloist with the Syracuse and Detroit Symphonies, Florida Orchestra, and the Indianapolis and Naples Symphonies, conducted by Keith Lockhart of the Boston Pops.

Rebecca has toured as guest soloist in concert for Marvin Hamlisch and has performed principal roles with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Minnesota, Connecticut, Omaha and NYC Opera companies, as well as principal roles with the St. Louis and Trinity Repertory Companies, Cincinnati Playhouse, Arizona Theatre Company, Theatre Under the Stars, Paper Mill Playhouse, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Lyrics and Lyricists. She has been a part of four ENCORES! concerts at the City Center, as well as the Ira Gershwin Centennial at Carnegie Hall, recorded for PBS. Rebecca's recent television credits include "Third Watch" and "Law and Order: SVU."
