PETER CINCOTTI TO PERFORM AND SIGN DEBUT CD AT VIRGIN RECORDS IN TIMES SQUARE

At 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11th, Peter Cincotti, 19-year-old vocalist, pianist, composer and arranger, will perform with his quartet and sign copies of his debut CD, "Peter Cincotti," at the VIRGIN RECORDS Mega-Store located in Times Square on Broadway between 45th & 46th Streets. Concord Records will officially release Cincotti's much-anticipated debut recording that day produced by Phil Ramone (multi-Grammy winner including this year's, "Playin' With My Friends: Bennett Sings the Blues,"). The CD features Peter on piano and vocals, bassist David Finck, tenor saxophonist Scott Kreitzer and drummer Kenny Washington. All arrangements are by Peter Cincotti.

With a background in innovative jazz and classical piano, Peter Cincotti breathes new life into both pop and jazz. Ramone calls Cincotti "the freshest old soul to come along in ages," and his wise-beyond-his-years vocal and ivory styles are sure to help link his generation to the glorious history of the jazz legends that have inspired him.

In trying to define what makes Cincotti extraordinary, comparisons are bound to be made. With his good looks and whimsical yet sultry way with a standard, some may see him as a male version of Diana Krall. "When it came time to choose and arrange the material for the album, I wanted to make sure that it represented who I am, at this point in time," Cincotti explains. "Fortunately, Concord generously gave me complete artistic freedom to do just that."

Phil Ramone was eager to help his new protege find and express his own voice. With the help of his musicians, Ramone and Cincotti found that the key to finding the right sound for the CD was the interaction between the piano and the trio, a vibe they achieved by recording everything at once.
