Crooner Todd Murray Releases New CD

From sexy and swinging to soulful and sentimental, Todd Murray explores the many faces of romance in his new CD "When I Sing Low." Recorded at the famed Capitol Records studios in Hollywood, CA, the CD boasts several standards, including "They Say It's Wonderful," "Where or When," "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To," "Don't Fence Me In," and "I Get Along Without You Very Well (Except Sometimes)." Murray also shares the microphone with jazz great Sue Raney on "Just in Time." Included on the CD is the eponymous "When I Sing Low," written by Murray.

On Murray's new CD, "When I Sing Low," (available at http://www.Amazon.com or http://www.toddmurray.com/) the subtle mixing of influences from Tony Bennett to his Aunt Kitty provide a rich, sultry jazz mixture that's calculated to present love and romance in all of its splendor and pain.

A veteran crooner for more than 20 years, Murray cites many influences as impetus for his latest release. While crediting its inspiration to numerous jazz artists, Murray also points out that much of his style and love for the genre did not come from a smoky nightclub or a painful Southern upbringing. For Murray, his love of ballads came first from the Baptist church, the center of his hometown of Montandon, Pennsylvania. A singer in its choir, Murray spent many hours spurred by the sound of voices uplifting and moved by the lyrics of deliverance.

Produced by Ronald Zate of Zate Entertainment, the CD has been a labor of love for both Murray and Zate. Specializing in developing performers and writers, Zate Entertainment focuses on talent that fuses different genres. From theater to music to television, Zate cultivates multitalented hyphenates who cross those genres to profound effect. According to Zate, Murray is the type of performer who typifies his company's philosophy.
