LML MUSIC RELEASES CD FEATURING SONGS OF ADRYAN RUSS

"EVERYONE HAS A STORY" AN ALBUM OF THEATER, CABARET AND POP SONGS BY LYRICIST/COMPOSER ADRYAN RUSS RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 6, 2001

LML Music has announced a new CD release, EVERYONE HAS A STORY: THE SONGS OF ADRYAN RUSS, which offers Broadway, pop, cabaret Ü even a holiday song Ü by this lyricist and composer. Miss Russ was creator of "Inside Out," the award-winning off-Broadway musical about five women in group therapy that played New York's Cherry Lane Theatre and many other theaters across the country.

EVERYONE HAS A STORY, produced by Bruce Kimmel, formerly of Varese Sarabande and currently of Fynsworth Alley, is graced by some of Los Angeles and Broadway stages' finest singers. Among them, Susan Egan (Tony nominated for "Beauty & The Beast," recently played Sally Bowles in "Cabaret," currently starring in "Nikki" on the WB network), Jason Graae ("Falsettos," "Forbidden Broadway," "Ragtime"), Cindy Benson ("Les Miserables," "Cats," "Nunsense"), Sharon McNight ("Starmites," Tony nominee," Sophie Tucker Songbook"), and Joan Ryan (star of "Ruthless! The Musical").

A fellow of the Cabaret Symposium in Connecticut, Adryan sings a song herself. Accompaniment includes pop, Broadway Ü sometimes solo, sometimes full, eclectic arrangements of legendary guitarist, Grant Geissman; the classic piano stylings of music director, arranger, composer Shelly Markham and conductor, arranger Jeff Rizzo.

Adryan wrote most lyrics and music but shares writing credit on two with long-time musical theater collaborator, playwright Doug Haverty, and two with composer, music conductor-arranger Brad Ellis. EVERYONE HAS A STORY: THE SONGS OF ADRYAN RUSS is a collection of songs written for shows, cabaret performances, individual artists and sometimes, she says, "pure therapy."

Adryan also wrote music for "Luster," staged at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre; and incidental music and title song for Doug Haverty's "In My Mind's Eye." She is currently developing two new musicals and, with Haverty, has been commissioned by Stage-by-Stage in Toronto to write songs for a musical concept. Her work has been featured at the ASCAP/Disney Workshop and at New Tuners in Chicago, her hometown. Her individual songs have been sung by a variety of cabaret performers and recorded by pop singers in the U.S. and abroad.

With film composers, Adryan has worked as lyricist only, on such title songs as "White Lies" for "The Check Is In The Mail," with Brian Dennehy and Ann Archer; and "Save The Earth," for the English-version cult classic, "Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster" (which she admits with great trepidation). She's also written music and lyrics for several animated features and theme park special presentations.

Adryan is a member of ASCAP, The Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop (Los Angeles), The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), The Society of Composers & Lyricists, and The Dramatists Guild.
