JEROME RECORDS
presents their new release, "Catch Me If You Can," the debut solo
CD from acclaimed Jazz vocalist Laurie Krauz. Ms. Krauz was recently
nominated for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Association
of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC). The album features Daryl Kojak on piano,
Sean Conly on bass, Gene Lewin on drums and jazz legend George Coleman
on tenor sax. Mr. Kojak also served as producer and arranger. The
album will be available in stores on May 1.
A CD release
party will take place at S.O.B.'s (204 Varick Street at West Houston)
on May 1. The performance is at 7:00pm, with a reception immediately
following.
Ms.
Krauz, an accomplished singer and a rising star in the jazz world,
delivers sensual and passionate interpretations of time-honored standards
by Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, George & Ira Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein
and Billie Holliday, along with new compositions by Daryl Kojak and
others. In 1998, 1999 and 2001, she was nominated for Outstanding
Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC).
She was honored with the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist
in 1997. Ms. Krauz regularly appears at Town Hall, Sardi's, Danny's
Skylight Room, Cleopatra's Needle, Soho Caviarteria and other New
York venues.
Ms. Krauz
has earned rave reviews from the New York critics. "You won't believe
your ears," wrote H. Scott Jolley in Time Out New York. "This jazz
singer's velvety voice is a wonder to behold." Wayman Wong of the
Daily News said "Krauz offers a lovely and liquidy voice that pours
out of her like fine wine." John Hoglund of Back Stage calls her "a
terrific jazz vocalist. She really digs deep and grabs the true meaning
