"You'd Be Paradise," is the follow-up to her well-received debut recording, "Crazy Eyes." She will be performing in two special media performances on October 4th, at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (346 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) at 7:00 & 9:00 pm.. Mary will be joined on stage by Bill Mays on piano, Jon Burron bass, Paul Meyers on guitar and Ron Vincent on drums. There is a $12 cover charge and a $10 food/drink minimum.

In a review of her 1998 debut CD, "Crazy Eyes," George Kanzler of The Newark Star-Ledger noted Mary Foster Conklin's " astute and delightfully surprising repertoire choices." With the release of "You'd Be Paradise," Mary once again displays her exceptional taste in material by performing compositions from an eclectic variety of tunesmiths, including Bob Dorough, Cole Porter, Michel Legrand, Alan & Marilyn Bergman and the undisputed neo-bop composer of quirk, David Cantor. The unusual musical selections on the CD not only allow Mary to demonstrate her facile and dynamic jazz chops, but also let her display a vulnerable, ironic and guile-less approach to the material.

Courage, taste, intelligence, humour and skill accurately describe Mary Foster Conklin's relationship to her art, an approach that is borne-out on this new recording by her incredibly talented collaborators. "You'd Be Paradise" is produced and arranged by Mary's long-time associate, Jeffrey Klitz and features strong musical performances from jazz legend Bill Mays on piano, Frank Vignola on guitar, Jon Burr on bass and Joe Ascione on drums.

Mary Foster Conklin has appeared in cabarets, theatres, and jazz clubs all over the metropolitan New York area, and in many major cities in the United States. Originally from New Jersey, she arrived in New York City with the intent of studying theatre at the prestigious "Circle in the Square Professional Workshop." Mary was a founding member of the American Line Theatre Company as well as appearing in numerous stage productions Off-Off Broadway, in regional theatre and in Summer Stock. She first began singing in cabarets in 1984, and through her natural and accessible musicality, eclectic mix of original material and standards, as well as her unique presentation, she has quickly carved out a niche for herself in one of the most competitive milieus of entertainment.

A few of the many New York area venues where Mary Foster Conklin has appeared include THE SOHO CAVIARTERIA, CLEOPATRA'S NEEDLE, THE METRONOME, THE KNITTING FACTORY, THE BLUE NOTE, SWING 46, LA BELLE ¸POQUE, DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM, DON'T TELL MAMA, THE TRIAD, LE BAR BAT, numerous performances at the yearly "Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention held at Town Hall.
