EUAN MORTON'S DEBUT
SOLO ALBUM "NEWCLEAR" AVAILABLE NOW
Independent recording label
Lyric Partners released Euan Morton's debut solo album, NewClear. Recorded
earlier this year in New York and Virginia, NewClear (co-produced by
Euan along with David Nehls and Mae Robertson) contains 10 tracks consisting
of both new songs and covers of some of Euan's favorite tunes. Euan
Morton, a native of Bo'ness, Scotland, is a performer whose singular
voice has been hailed by theatre and music critics alike since he came
to the States in the Broadway musical Taboo (a role that earned him
a Tony nomination and a Theatre World Award, in addition to the Olivier
Award nomination he earned for originating the role in London).
Euan recently
appeared onstage to great acclaim in The Public Theater's production
of Measure For Pleasure. He will soon reprise the title role in Maurice
Sendak and Tony Kushner's adaptation of Brundibar at The New Victory
Theater (having originated the part at Berkley Rep). Over the past
two years, Euan has performed several sold-out concerts in New York
City at Joe's Pub, The Zipper Theatre and Town Hall, as well as at
The Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Euan Morton's band consists
of David Nehls (keyboards), David Matos (lead guitar), Paul Ranieri
(bass) and Damien Bassman (drums and percussion).
Lyric Partners
was established in 1994 by Mae Robertson and Don Jackson out of deep
respect for the lasting beauty and collective wisdom of folk music,
and a driving desire to present it to a new audience. In its continued
efforts to support outstanding artists by bringing their music to
a growing independent audience, Lyric Partners is proud to add Morton
to the label as its first Pop/Rock music recording artist.
