MARILYN HARRIS EMBARKS ON "ROUND TRIP" CD PROMO TOUR

---

Loaded with round "swag" (frisbees, yo-yos, coffee mugs, pillboxes with emergency M&Ms, etc.) singer-songwriter-pianist Marilyn Harris embarks on a 5-week ROUND TRIP road trip to radio stations around the perimeter of the United States this month to promote her new Big Band CD release, "ROUND TRIP". This is Marilyn's 3rd jazz CD for Wrightwood Records (WRCD-1569), and features 10 great new Marilyn Harris songs (and 2 fabulous covers) - backed by the LA Jazz All-Stars Big Band (a gathering of the swinging-est top studio cats in Los Angeles - led by producer/arranger Mark Wolfram) and wonderful instrumental solos by Bill Watrous, Pete Christlieb, Jim Fox, Dan Higgins, Warren Luening, Andy Martin, Don Shelton, as well as a special vocal duet with jazz legend Bob Dorough. Liner notes are by jazz DJ and journalist Neil Tesser.

After a CD Release Party with special guest Greg Armstrong in at COLORS (5305 East Speedway, Tucson, AZ - 520- 323-1840) on Saturday, May 27th from 6:30 until 9:30 pm (no cover/no minimum), Marilyn heads west to Los Angeles where she'll be a special guest of Mary Jo Mundy at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 30th at Tom Rolla's THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 - http://www.cabaretwest.org/gardenia.htm ) ($15 cover/2 drink minimum).

Marilyn is also scheduled for a radio interview with Julio Martinez on KPFK at noon on June 1st before heading north to San Francisco, where she plans to debut a few songs at MARTUNI'S (4 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-241-0205 - http://martunis.citysearch.com/ ).

After heading north to radio stations in Portland and Seattle, and east through the Twin Cities, on Sunday, June 11th, she'll be performing her complete show at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/ ) with special guest Larry Gray ($15 cover, 2 drink minimum - $10 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE).

After visiting various radio stations along the way, she'll perform a short set on Thursday, June 15th at 3 PM at the JazzWeek Summit during the Rochester Jazz Festival. From there she's on to radio stations on the northeast seaboard, finishing up with a 6:30 pm show on Friday, June 23rd at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/ ) with special guest Ritt Henn ($10 cover/2 drink minimum - only $5 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE).
