2004 BACK STAGE Bistro Award Winner Rebecca Spencer has announced the "web release" of her second CD, entitled FAIR WARNING. She will also present a CD release show - no cover - at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/ ) on Thursday, April 6th at 8:30p m and Friday, April 7th at 5:00 pm. She will sing selections from the CD. There will be no cover charge, and a standard two drink minimum, along with a special champagne toast to celebrate her magical encounter with the Red Hat Ladies that inspired FAIR WARNING. She will be joined by her Musical Director, Philip Fortenberry, who will be flying in from Las Vegas, where he is currently the Associate Conductor for HAIRSPRAY. The new CD, Fair Warning at its heart is a dedication to the human spirit and was inspired by a magical encounter with a group of ladies belonging to the Red Hat Society.

At the same time, Ms. Spencer has accepted an offer for the role of Madame Giry and shall open the new Las Vegas production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Venetian Hotel & Casino, where she will begin rehearsals on April 24th for an anticipated June 24th opening. The role brings Rebecca back to the haunts of the Paris Opera House fifteen years after her debut as Carlotta in Sir Andrew and Mr. Prince's Hamburg, Germany production.

Rebecca's self produced debut recording Wide Awake and Dreaming began a collaboration with pianist Philip Fortenberry that was hailed by audiences and critics for its contemporary art song interpretations, inspired by the lyrics. Her new CD, Fair Warning at its heart is a dedication to the human spirit and was inspired by a magical encounter with a group of ladies belonging to the Red Hat Society.
