The New Conservatory Theatre Center is proud to present the vivacious Amanda King, starring in It's About Damn Time. The show opens September 21st (one preview on September 20th) and runs through October 7th. As part of NCTC's Summer Cabaret Series, "Amanda King: It's About Damn Time" is a swingin' evening of zesty tunes that celebrate life and love. In the show Ms. King promises to bend blue notes and breathe new life into a vibrant collection of wonderful jazz standards and lesser known titles from the 1930s to the 1960s. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. All performances will take place at NEW CONSERVATORY THEATRE CENTER (25 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA - 415-861-8972 - http://www.nctcsf.org/ ).

Amanda is one of three individuals supported by NCTC's Emerging Artists Program, a stipend based residence for artists to develop and produce new work. A finalist in the Bay Area Cabaret competition, her electric stage presence and keen musical interpretation give this sassy chanteuse unrelenting audience appeal. One of San Francisco's most dynamic new cabaret singers, Amanda King's style has been compared to that of Ella Fitzgerald and Ann Margaret with a little Bette Midler thrown in for good measure.
