SAN FRANCISCO - PACIFIC NORTHWEST
SINGERS PEFORMANCE INTENSIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO
A 30-hour intensive covering performance technique and presentation
for singers and a how-to in marketing/publicity for professional, semi-professional
and emerging performers will take place at the THICK HOUSE THEATRE (1695
18th Street, San Francisco, CA - http://www.thickdescription.org/
) on two weekends in August, the 3rd through 5th and 11th & 12th. The
intensive will give each singer the opportunity to work on several songs
in a master class setting, addressing interpretation of lyrics, stage
presence, mic technique, verbal introduction to the song, working with
instrumentalists, and "selling" the song in performance.
Video will be used, as desired by the vocalists. All
students will be featured in a public showcase performance at THICK
HOUSE THEATRE, Sunday, August 12th at 7:00 pm, to which family, friends,
and associates are cordially invited.
Additionally, 3 seminars will be included in the intensive:
How to Move From Where You Are Now to Where You Want
to Be, presented by Nancy Tierney, professional singer and a confidence
coach who teaches people how to have complete confidence, creative
freedom and tons of fun any time they are performing in public. This
2-hour seminar will include topics ranging from your internal work
to creating a publicity platform for your marketing.
Polishing Your Act taught by America's Got Talent semi-finalist
Shawn Ryan. You will also receive a free ticket to Shawn's upcoming
blockbuster show at THE HERBST THEATRE (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco,

) on August 24th.

by Lua Hadar and Linda Kosut, who will walk you through the process
of creating the appropriate press release and how to contact and talk
to the media.
