TONY DeSARE OPENS 2007 CABARET SOIREE SEASON AT THE MANOR
Tony DeSare, one of New York's hottest new young singer/pianists opens
the 2007 CABARET SOIREE Series at LE DOME at THE MANOR (111 Prospect
Avenue, West Orange, NJ - 973-731-2360 - http://themanorrestaurant.com/cabaret.html
) on Thursday, February 15th at 9:00 pm. Though it can be said that
Tony is part of the new breed of young singers keeping classic American
music alive, what sets Tony apart is his ability to write original material
that sounds fresh and at the same time blends seamlessly with the classics.
DeSare has the capability to glide from Gershwin to
Tom Waits to one of his own songs with "dapper charm" and ease. Tony's
shows are a musical vision steeped in the pop tradition as much as
in jazz. In 2000, he was cast in the Off-Broadway hit, "Our Sinatra,"
in which he later was the star when that show was revived at the legendary
BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB. Tony has also been a featured performer at JILLY'S,
the legendary Rat Pack era celebrity hangout owned by Frank Sinatra's
best friend. In addition to his starring role in "Our Sinatra" at
Birdland, Tony headlined his own night there as well.
In the fall of 2002, Tony performed at the Apollo Theater,
where he met the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli. Since then, Tony and
Bucky have performed numerous times together and have recently recorded
a full length CD.
The Cabaret Soiree consists of a 4-course, 4-star dinner-and-show
package, with dinner seatings at 6:00, 6:15, and 6:30 pm. ShowTime
is 9:00 pm. Cost for dinner and show is $74 plus tax & tip. Wait-list
"show only" seats available at $35 per person.
