) on Thursday November 29th at 7:00 pm. More than an impersonation,
this is an evening of fine writing, comedy, characterization and musical
performance. The excellent musical direction is by Michael Ferreri.
Winner of the Award for "Best Achievement in Performance"
at this year's Dublin Theatre Festival, the 2006 MAC Award (Manhattan
Association of Cabarets and Clubs) for Best Impersonator and the
BACKSTAGE BISTRO AWARD, Broadway veteran Rick Skye has taken A SLICE
O' MINNELLI, from New York to Chicago, the Edinburgh Festival, a
"sold-out" season in Covent Garden, the Apollo Theatre in London's
West End and, most recently The Dublin Theatre Festival.
A performer of tremendous range, Rick Skye, now a
singer/composer/lyricist, began his career studying acting with
Stella Adler, while simultaneously dancing with the Joffrey Ballet.
He toured with Ann Reinking in The American Dance Machine, and also
toured every state in the US in a musical called Miss Liberty. Rick
was on Broadway in the original production of Sondheim's Merrily
We Roll Along and in The Pirates of Penzance in New York's Central
Park.
With the blessing of Neil Sedaka, Rick created The
Flip Side of Neil Sedaka winning New York's Bistro Award for excellence
in entertainment. Rick also created a tabloid fable, Macabaret,
about show biz, a satire spawning a Liza Minnelli segment that led
to A SLICE O' MINNELLI.
There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
