JIM SPEAKE RETURNS WITH ACCLAIMED BRASS BAND SHOWò
Jim Speake returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street,

) for one show only on Saturday November 10th at 2:30 pm with his acclaimed
show "I'm A Brass Band." The show features the music of Cy Coleman,
the Tony, Emmy and Grammy award winning composer of Broadway musicals:
Sweet Charity, The Will Rogers Follies, City Of Angels, The Life,
Barnun, Little Me, Seesaw, On The Twentieth Century, Wildcat and others.
Musical direction is by Steven Ray Watkins, with Matt Wigton on bass
and Fred Kennedy on drums. The show is directed by Lennie Watts.
Cy Coleman worked with noted lyricists: Dorothy Fields,
Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, David Zippel, Michael
Stewart and others. The show also includes popular standards written
by Cy Coleman.
An Alabama native, Jim Speake moved to New York from
Atlanta, GA in 2000. He has performed in clubs and small theaters
in the city including: Birdland, Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, the
Encore, Wings Theater, the Gallery Players and the Eugene O'Neill
Theater Center in Waterford, Ct.
There is a $15 cover charge, 2-drink minimum.
