"THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ROCK" DEBUTS AT THE DUPLEX
Rock Albers, award-winning performance comedian, sings, plays the
piano and rants about the world of politics, pop culture, sports,
science and religion in an all new comedy show "The World According
To Rock" at the THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street,

) on Saturdays at 5:00 pm on October 20th and November 3rd. Albers
was twice the recipient of the MAC Best Male Stand-Up Comedian in
2002 and 2003.
Rock's previous shows ("Rock 1," "Rock 2," "American
Rock" and "Classic Rock"), which have been playing in New York City
for seven years, have been applauded by audiences and critics alike.
In the new show Albers presents comedy pieces about Googling, the
Bible, the NBA, picking a President and the color pink. He'll also
riff about the omission of the Queen of Rock, the legendary Wanda
Jackson, who was the first female rock and roll singer, from the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition Rock will introduce comedy
parody songs about celebrity rehab, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
and "the most boring song ever written," Pachelbel's "Canon In D."
A comedy piano duet with his musical director will climax the show.
The show's director and co-author Stephen Rosenfield
has directed at The Roundabout Theatre, The Ensemble Studio Theatre,
The Actor's Studio and is the Director of the American Comedy Institute.
Special material for the show is also being written
by Scott Logsdon, a lyricist who was a finalist for the 2006 Richard
Rodgers Award and who has written material for Broadway's Gypsy
of the Year and performers including Jason Alexander; and Alan Friedman,
an early member of Capitol Steps in Washington, D.C. as well as
creator of Southern Discomfort, an Atlanta-based musical satire
group.
Musical directors for the show are Tracy Stark, 2006
Backstage Bistro Award winner for musical direction, and Ray Fellman,
2007 Backstage Bistro Award Best Piano Bar Entertainer. Stark is
a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music and has performed at
Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Fellman is a graduate of Indiana
University's School of Music where he is also a member of the faculty
