STEVE RAY WATKINS RETURNS WITH ACCLAIMED BLACK & WHITES" SHOW
MAC and Bistro Award Winning singer/pianist Steven Ray Watkins is
bringing his acclaimed solo show, "Black and Whites," back to THE
METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 -

) for two performances only, Monday February 19th & Sunday February
25th, both shows at 9:30 pm. The show is a celebration of piano-playing
male singer-songwriters, and includes music from Billy Joel, Elton
John, Ray Charles, Peter Allen, and many others. Joining Steven on
stage are drummers Sean McDaniel and Fred Kennedy, bassist Michael
Blanco, guitarist Kyle Sanna, with backup vocals provided by Jerry
Smith, Alisa Schiff, and Karen Mack. The show is directed by Lennie
Watts.
Steven Ray Watkins has been playing the piano for
38 years, and has been working professionally as a performer and
musician for 34 years . As an actor he has appeared in –The Last
Session,” –Jesus Christ Superstar,” and in the national tours of
–Big,” –SinginŒ in the Rain,” and –Showboat.” As a musician, he
has worked as a session player, as a musical director and vocal
director in the theater, and most frequently as an arranger and
musical director in the New York City Cabaret circuit. He has worked
with such names as Patti LuPone, Karen Mason, Louise Pitre, Amanda
McBroom, Lennie Watts, Georga Osborne, Natalie Blalock and Sharon
McNight, among many others, and has received two Bistro Awards and
a MAC award.
The cost is a $20 cover charge with a 2-drink minimum.
