CABARET NEWS - NEW YORK CITY

KINETIC DANCE THEATER PRESENTS RYAN GREER IN I'LL TAKE SUMMER
Kinetic Dance Theater (Joanna & Ryan Greer, Artistic Directors) premieres I'LL TAKE SUMMER. Ryan Greer, after his acclaimed debut at UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN, returns to the cabaret stage in this new limited engagement at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/ ) on Fridays February 2nd & 16th at 9:00 pm, Sunday February 11th at 8:00 pm and Monday, February 19th at 7:00 pm. I'LL TAKE SUMMER is directed by Joanna Greer with Musical Director Stephanie Wells on piano, Christopher Heinz on drums, and also features dancers Brad Landers and Bianca Saltaformaggio.

Winter got you down? I'LL TAKE SUMMER proposes a cure: summer songs for the winter blues. From classic standards to 70s soul to the quintessential bossa nova, the set is a meditation on the fairer season. Through song and dance, Ryan shares his sunny disposition while taking on summer love, summer in the city, summer nights, even Sonnet 18 bemoaning, "summer's lease hath all too short a date."

Kinetic Dance Theater (http://www.KineticDanceTheater.org/ ) concentrates on presenting original works in dance and musical theater and is proud to include cabaret. Recent productions are the dance-theater pieces Sleeping Giant Sept 2006, The Cyclone Nov 2005 and the musical Here's to the Third New York Sept-Oct 2004 at the TADA! Theater, as well as Move to Exit Nov 2003 at the Kraine Theater. Ryan made his cabaret debut in Old Hat April 2006 at Upstairs at Rose's Turn, which was featured on Ken Kleiber's popular cable access show That's Kentertainment.
