at 8:00 pm. With songs by greats including: Rogers and Hart, Jerome
Kern, Rogers and Hammerstein, Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley,
Leon Russell, Bob Hilliard, Chip Taylor, and Harold Arlen, she shares
intimate interpretations and personal visions of gems taken from the
worlds of pop, jazz R & B and the great American songbook. For this
exclusive engagement, Ms. Dexter will be joined by her acclaimed musical
director, Ross Patterson with Steve Doyle on bass and David Silliman
on drums.
Since her return to performing in 1991, Ms. Dexter
has become one of today's most dynamic and beloved artists on the
club scene and amassed legions of new fans who flock to see every
show. As one of cabaret's most acclaimed and honored artists, Baby
Jane Dexter's last engagement at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM was a sold-out
triumph that garnered rave reviews. Her powerful delivery is compelling
and includes a wide range of styles that mixes raw blues, standards,
pop and jazz in a unique delivery as she shares personalized life
experiences through her songs. She invariably touches audiences
through her highly charged, whimsical and heartfelt shows about
life and survival.
