LESLIE AND RICKY ARE BACK WITH JOHNNY MERCER SINGS SHOW
The multi-award winning duo of Leslie Anderson and Ricky Ritzel bring their back their new show "Johnny Mercer Sings! - the songs he didn't write," featuring Joe Regan & "The Pied Pipers" to UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 212-366-5438 - http://www.rosesturn.com/ ) on Saturdays, January 6th, 13th & 20th at 9:00 pm and Saturday, January 27th at 7:00 pm. The show was presented in November & December 2006 at four venues and garnered acclaim from reviewers and audiences alike. The show is directed by Jim Luzar.

Leslie Anderson received the 2005 MAC Award for Outstanding Piano Bar Performer. Along with her musical director, Ricky Ritzel, she also received the 2005 MAC Award for Best Revue for their Johnny Mercer Birthday Show. They continued to receive accolades for their third cabaret tribute to Johnny Mercer titled Mercer At The Movies, which they performed at Helen1s Hideaway in Chelsea. Leslie enjoyed being back on Broadway at the Schubert Theatre in the concert version of A Wonderful Life, which was a one-night-only AFA Benefit starring Brian Stokes Mitchell, Judy Kuhn and David Hyde Pierce. She was honored with a 2005 BACKSTAGE Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Duo for her work with Ricky Ritzel in their JOHNNY MERCER A-to-Z SHOW. She was also honored in 2003 with a BACKSTAGE Bistro Award for Outstanding Piano Bar Performer. She continues to perform weekly in various piano bars. Leslie performed at The Town Hall where she received the 2005 Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Piano Bar Performer.

Ricky Ritzel has been a fixture on the nightclub and cabaret scene in NYC for over 20 years and has received numerous Cabaret awards including 10 Manhattan Association of Cabarets Awards in 7 different categories. He has performed all over the United States, as well as London and Paris. An accomplished solo performer, Ricky has also accompanied such greats as Vivian Blaine, Ruth Warrick, Arthur Prysock, Varla Jean Merman, Julie Wilson, Lenora Nemetz and Miss Coco. With famed Chicago jazz vocalist Spider Saloff, Ricky created several award winning revues such as "1938", which was recorded on the Kopathetics label, "Porgy & Bess: a Cabaret Concert" and "Ira and Others". His performance as Jimmy Durante in "Schnozzola!" earned him critical raves and numerous awards. Ricky is also half of the kooky "Lounge does Top 40" duo, THE LOUNGEOLEERS with 5 CD's on the Emenar label.

There is a $15 cover and a 2-drink minimum.
