TOTALLY TONIA IN PALM SPRINGS CONCERT
Irwin Rubinsky presents Friday Matinee Cabaret "TOTALLY TONIA - An Afternoon of Song" starring Continental Chanteuse Tonia Bern-Campbell on Friday, March 9th at 2:00 pm at THE CATHEDRAL CITY SENIOR CENTER (68727 East Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA - 760-321-1548). Tonia Bern-Campbell sings in 6 languages. She was born in a 5 star hotel in Belgium, spent three years at the Conservatoire Royale in Brussels. While a teenager she became a protÁgÁ of Jacques Brel by singing one of his songs in a contest - he insisted on teaching her to sing the song "right." While in London Tonia met her future husband, racing boat ace Donald Campbell and they were married three weeks later. He was killed in a racing accident in 1967 (Anthony Hopkins played him in a movie of their life, "Across the Lake"). Her father's cousin was Maurice Chevalier who helped her careerwise several times.

She has appeared on many top American variety shows and in American theaters and clubs. Tonia also had her own radio programme, "Tonia's World", on Britain's BBC. Her book, "My Speed King: Life with Donald Campbell" may soon become a film in England.
