REBECCA SPENCER IN CONCERT IN LAS VEGAS
On February 25th at 2:00 pm, Rebecca Spencer will continue to deliver
on the promise of her dual career as a vocalist and actress, as she
celebrates the debut of her headlining concert in Las Vegas at THE CLARK
COUNTY FLAMINGO LIBRARY THEATER (1401 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas,
NV - 702-658-6741 - http://www.lvccld.org/about/locations/ccl.html
) as part of The Performing Arts Society of Nevada's Brown Bag Concerts.
The performance marks the premiere of a full-length show which will
be suited to a range of venues in 2007.
Conceived as "a tapestry of lyric-driven art song interpretations ranging
from the American Songbook to lesser known Pop, Jazz, Broadway and Opera
repertoire, "REBECCA SPENCER IN CONCERT" will feature Spencer on vocals,
long-time collaborator Philip Fortenberry on piano, and cellist Moonlight
Tran. The show will be built around Spencer's two acclaimed recordings
‚ "Fair Warning" and "Wide Awake and Dreaming". Songs originally intended
for the listen will be performed and communicated live in an intimate
400-seat theatre.
Spencer currently appears as Madame Giry, a principal cast member, in
PHANTOM: THE LAS VEGAS SPECTACULAR at THE VENETIAN RESORT HOTEL CASINO
(3355 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV - 702-414-1000 - http://www.venetian.com/
). The show reunites Spencer with Broadway legend Harold Prince. Spencer
had previously played the role of Carlotta (performed in German,) for
Mr. Prince's Hamburg, Germany Phantom of the Opera Company. She is an
original Broadway principal cast member of Jekyll and Hyde, and is critically-acclaimed
as a vocalist and actress.
Spencer won the 2004 BACK STAGE Magazine Bistro Award for Outstanding
Achievement in a Recording for her debut solo "CD Wide Awake and Dreaming."
Ticket Price for the concert is $15.
