CHICAGO - MIDWEST
LET'S GET IT ON: THE MUSIC OF MOTOWN STARTS SEPTEMBER 21st
Karlton D. Turner and a host of talented artist pay homage to the legends
of Motown for 6 weeks starting on Friday, September 21st at THE AMERICAN
CABARET THEATRE (401 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN - 317-631-0334
- http://www.actindy.org/ ). The
show plays Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 3:00 pm through
October 28th.
No other music moves the soul the way Motown does.
Rarely does the mention of a single record company conjure up such
a well defined music experience - the music of Motown defined a generation.
The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Martha Reeves,
The Temptations, Lionel Richie, and many more, were all artists who
believed in their music. They produced songs that told real stories
with hooks that are as infectious today as they were when initially
issued some 40 years ago. The Music of Motown was able to blend the
smooth and the harsh in ways that few other pop entities have ever
mastered delivering a sound that not only played to the feet but also
to the heart.
