VOCALISTS BARBARA HELMER AND STELLIE SITEMAN IN MO SHOWS
Something new is appearing on the cabaret horizon in St. Louis! Casual
Cabaret is pleased to present four wonderful evenings of song and patter
on Fridays, May 25, June 15 & July 20 at MINIONS CAFE (7322 Manchester
Road, Maplewood, MO - 314-781-4800) and on June 23 at SHANGRI-LA DINER
(2201 Cherokee Street, St. Louis, MO - 314-795-8778 - http://www.theshangriladiner.com/
). The show features vocalists Barbara Helmer and Stellie Siteman with
Mike Silverman as Musical Director.
Stellie Siteman has been singing, acting and performing
for more than 30 years, appearing locally in shows at the MUNY, Arrow
Rock Lyceum and New Jewish Theatre and has also had roles in numerous
films. Critics have described Stellie as St. Louis' own Elaine Stritch.
Barbara Helmer, whose voice and presentation are reminiscent
of Rosemary Clooney, has also been singing and performing for more
than 30 years. Barbara was a cast member in several community musical
companies including St. Louis Showstoppers and Broadway Fantasies.
Ms. Helmer's most recent appearances were featured in several sold-out
performances of Ella's Radio for St. Louis Charity Performances.
Stellie and Barbara have created a new show which features
such songs as Comden & Green's "One Hundred Easy Ways to Lose a Man"
a sharp, witty, trenchant patter song; "If You Hadn't But You Did"
a dry-eyed, rapid-fire lament of a women scorned; "Can't Help Lovin'
That Man" by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein; and everyone's favorite
"Over the Rainbow."
At MINIONS CAFE cost is $45 show/dinner (dinner at 7:30
show at 8:30 pm - BYO Wine)
At SHANGRI-LA cost is $30 show/dinner cost (dinner at 7:00 show at
