MARIA TECCE AT NATICK CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Boston-born jazz/cabaret chanteuse Maria Tecce returns from Europe to
give her first home town performance at TCAN: The Center for Arts in
Natick (14 Summer Street, Natick, MA - 508-904-7171 - http://www.natickarts.org/
) for one night only on Friday, November 30th at 8:00 pm. Maria celebrates
the launch of her new live DVD, "Live in Prague." After the 2003 release
of her debut album "All About Love", Maria quickly became a bright and
fiery star on the music & acting scenes in Ireland and Europe. She has
gone from strength to strength and her cabaret and jazz shows continue
to showcase this jazz chanteuse's acclaimed vocal talents.
Italian-Polish singer/actress Maria Tecce has kicked
off 2007 with nothing less than both guns blazing - lighting up the
Irish and British airwaves with her new radio show "Red, Hot, and
Tecce" on RTE Radio 1, taking on the acting mantle playing murdered
wife 'Isabella' the new BBC television series "Inspector Gentley",
co-starring in an international tour of Irish playwright John Murphy's
"The County Boy" (UK), and packing out a 5-night run of her jazz/cabaret
show "Red, Hot, and Tecce" at the Prague Fringe Festival 2007.
Maria celebrated the launch of her second album "Torch
Song" in September 2006 and caught the eye of Linn Records, one of
the UK's premiere jazz labels. This tour-du-force performer has sold-out
the world famous 'Spiegeltent' venue in Europe 3 years in a row to
standing ovations with her one-woman jazz-cabaret shows.
Two albums later and packed venues worldwide, Maria
has shared the stage with artists as diverse as Dionne Warwicke &
Ronnie Drew of the legendary 'The Dubliners". Her original songs have
also gained notoriety and are included on two separate CD compilations
featuring the likes of Grammy Award Winners John Prine, Bruce Mathiske,
Ron Sexsmith, and Bella Fleck as well as Irish artists Juliet Turner,
Damien Rice, David Kitt, Paddy Casey, Hazel O'Connor, and Luka Bloom.
