JOHN ABERNATHY SINGS JUST AN OLD SWEET SONG OR TWO
JM Productions is proud to present "Just An Old Sweet Song" a tribute to Hoagy Carmichael starring John Abernathy with special guest Lynda D'Amour! This upbeat show arrives on September 14th directly from Rhode Island to RAFFAEL'S AT NANTASKET BEACH (45 Hull Shore Drive, Hull, MA - 781-925-4515 - http://www.raffaels.com/ ). John Abernathy performs some of Hoagy Carmichael's most famous songs: "Georgia on My Mind", "Heart and Soul", "Skylark", "Stardust" and many more. Backed by Tom LaMark on piano, this performance will include special guest vocalist Lynda D'Amour. IRNE award winner Ida Zecco directs the show.

John Abernathy was recently featured in the 16th Annual New York Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center in a tribute to Broadway composer Jerry Herman sharing the stage with legendary performers Lee Roy Reams, Michael Feinstein, Marilyn Maye, and Mr. Herman himself. He received a 2005 nomination for Best Male Cabaret Performer from the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) for his show "A Cock-Eyed Optimist" at Club Cafe in Boston. John toured internationally as pianist and soloist with the musical group "Up With People" including a performance with the National Symphony Orchestra in Constitution Hall.

Lynda D'Amour's first solo venture into the cabaret waters emerged as "All About Love" with Tom LaMark as Music Director, a show exploring the ups & downs of love through standard and contemporary Broadway show tunes. It also landed her a spot at CabaretFest in Provincetown where Lynda shared the billing with the likes of nationally known artists Brett Somers and The Fabulous Baker Sisters. Lynda is currently enjoying her third season of singing the National Anthem at the Verizon Center for AHL hockey team the Manchester Monarchs. She can also be found regularly at Club Cafe in Boston, crooning to the dinner crowd and right into the midnight hour.

Tom LaMark holds a degree from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music. He has a remarkably varied base of experience to draw upon. Well-versed in many different styles of music, he has played with jazz stars: Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny Hartman and Buddy Rich. He has accompanied some of the greats of show business including: Aretha Franklin, The Smothers Brothers, Robert Merrill and many more.

Tickets for show only are $30. For dinner and show $50.
