BETTY BUCKLEY LEADS SEMINAR IN CAMBRIDGE SEPTEMBER 7th
Theater lovers in the greater Boston area are in for a treat: Broadway
legend Betty Buckley of Cats fame is coming to town for two shows at
THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA

) on Saturday, September 8th at 7:30 & 10:00 pm. While in Boston, she
will lead a rare seminar on performance skills at the CAMBRIDGE CENTER
FOR ADULT EDUCATION (56 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-547-6789

giving performers and fans a chance to learn from the Tony award-winning
actress. The seminar will take place on Friday, September 7th from 6:30
to 9:30 pm.
Ms. Buckley has been a teacher of song interpretation,
scene study and communication skills for over 35 years and has given
workshops at arts conservatories and universities including Boston
Conservatory, Cincinattii Conservatory, University of Texas at Arlington,
Fordham University, The Terry Schreiber Acting School, Casa Manana
Theatre and for Smith Barney in New York City. In the seminar Ms.
Buckley will present ways to redefine the fear of performance and
use it to advantage. She will explain the dynamics of communication,
the essence of common respect, and training the mind to focus on one's
own behalf. Ms. Buckley will also share meditative techniques she
uses in her own work.
Betty Buckley has received years of acclaim for her
roles on Broadway, including Sunset Boulevard, Cats (Tony Award),
1776, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Pippin, Triumph of
Love (Tony Nomination), and Elegies: A Song Cycle. She's also starred
in several films and TV series, and has been awarded honorary doctorates
by the Boston Conservatory and Marymount Manhattan College for her
contributions to the musical theatre.
Cost is $150 - $125 BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret
