DE LORENZO AND O'NEIL IN BOSTON DOUBLE-BILL
Award-winning
singers and Boston residents Brian De Lorenzo and John O'Neil join forces
in an evening of cabaret in beautiful DEANE HALL AT THE BOSTON CENTER
FOR THE ARTS' CALDERWOOD PAVILION (527 Tremont Street, Boston, MA -
617-426-5000 - http://bcaonline.org/
) on Saturday March 3rd at 7:30 pm. Brian De Lorenzo will present Listen
to My Heart with Ron Roy on Piano, and John O'Neil performs "Lullaby
for Broadway" with Tom LaMark on Piano.
Talent America's 2001 "Performer of the Year" De Lorenzo
takes a humorous and touching look at relationships in the 21st Century
with songs from the Great American Songbook, musical theatre, pop,
and contemporary cabaret in his show "Listen to My Heart." O'Neil
brings us on a hilarious romp through old Boston, Broadway past and
present, and his early forays onto the stage in "Lullaby for Broadway."
Broadway will never be the same by the time John is finished!
De Lorenzo has performed at clubs in Boston, New York,
Chicago, San Francisco, and Provincetown, and on cruise ships. Credits
include the New York and Chicago Cabaret Conventions and three Boston
Cabaret Festivals. His CD "Found Treasures" was nominated for the
2000 "Recording of the Year" Award by the Manhattan Association of
Cabarets and Clubs (MAC). He has been nominated three times by the
Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) for "Best Cabaret Show."
O'Neil has been recognized by the Boston Globe as one
of New England's best-known cabaret artists. Regularly appearing at
nightclubs and cabarets across the country, O'Neil equally charms
the lover of the soulful cocktail pianist and the fan of the art of
cabaret. John's show, "'So Kaye: The Songs of Danny Kaye" was nominated
for a 2000 IRNE Award (Independent Reviewers of New England). His
show "Camp Songs" was named one of the year's 10 best cabarets by
Bay Windows newspaper in 2000. "Being Earnest: The Songs of Ernie
Lijoi" was named one of Boston's best cabaret shows in 2001.
There is a $20 cover charge. Cash bar available.
