CABARET CELEBRATION 2007 - A CABARET WEEKEND MARCH 1st to 3rd
Cabaret Celebration 2007, sponsored by BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret
Artists - http://www.bostoncabaret.com/
) opens on Thursday, March 3rd in Boston, with shows scheduled at the
Boston Center for the Arts' STANFORD CALDERWOOD PAVILION - DEANE HALL
(527 Tremont Street, Boston, MA - 617-933-8600 - http://www.bcaonline.org/performances_pavilion.htm
) Thursday through Saturday, March 1st through 3rd.
On Thursday, March 1st at 7:30 pm, Celia Slattery and
Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg are featured. Ms. Slattery is a Boston area vocalist
whose blend of jazz and contemporary folk is further distinguished
by her backgrounds in experimental theater and political activism.
She shares a bill with Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg, who presents Attitude
of Gratitude, an eclectic evening of German and French cabaret, improvisations,
and American standards. Tickets are $25 (includes both shows).
On Friday, March 2nd, starting at 8:00 pm, Melissa Williams
brings her show "Up in a Tree," followed by Marilyn Dale and Ronnie
Springer "As You Are." Ms. Williams is the artistic director of the
Riverside Theater Works in Hyde Park. Her set is followed immediately
by newcomers Marilyn Dale and Ronnie Springer, who present a festive
romp through the avid imaginations of two fun-loving women. Tom LaMark
accompanies. Tickets $20 (includes both shows).
On Saturday night, March 3rd at 7:30 pm, John OŚNeil
presents "Lullaby for Broadway" followed by Brian De Lorenzo with
his show "Listen to My Heart" OŚNeil celebrates and lampoons the Great
White Way. Tom LaMark accompanies. De Lorenzo takes a humorous and
touching look at relationships in the 21st Century in his show "Listen
to My Heart." Ron Roy accompanies. Tickets $20 (includes both shows).
