BACA FUND RAISER EVENTS SET FOR JANUARY 2007
On Friday & Saturday, January 19th & 20th, 2007, BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists - http://www.bostoncabaret.com/ ) will co-sponsor a fundraiser in association with the CAMBRIDGE CENTER FOR ADULT EDUCATION (56 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-547-6789 - Ext. 1 - http://www.ccae.org/ ). All events take place at the 56 Brattle Street venue. Advance ticket purchase strongly recommended.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19TH AT 7:30 PM: OPEN MIC

The week-end begins with an Open Mic hosted by BACA sensation, Lynda D'Amour. As Theater Mirror says, "D'Amour can belt...or she can whisper the sweetest notes you ever heard." D'Amour has performed lead roles in well known musicals such as "Annie Get Your Gun," "Give My Regards To Broadway," and "Once Upon A Mattress." In addition to hosting the evening, Lynda will perform a mini-set of music from her latest show, ONE COOL CAT: The Songs of Sammy Davis, Jr. Renowned jazz pianist Mark Shilansky will be at the piano, and there will be refreshments for sale and a raffle to benefit BACA. Our open mikes have earned a reputation for safety and fun over the past ten years. All levels of singers (and listeners) are welcome. Bring a memorized song and sheet music. Sign-up starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $15 ($12 BACA members).

SATURDAY, JANUARY 20TH : CABARET SHOWCASE

BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists - http://www.bostoncabaret.com/ ) Benefit Cabaret Showcase features performances by local favorites Brian De Lorenzo, Alexia B. Motley and Celia Slattery accompanied by pianist Mark Shilansky. Few vocalists can communicate the sheer joy of singing as Talent America's 2001 "Performer of the Year" Brian De Lorenzo, interpreting traditional pop, standards, musical theatre and contemporary cabaret. Alexia Motley is a passionate performer who lends her elegance and style to a broad array of musical genres. Gifted singer/songwriter Celia Slattery explores personal relationships and political themes in an inspiring folk/pop style. BACA president Jim Keating will be the MC for the evening. There will also be a raffle. Tickets are $22 ($18 BACA members)
