BAY AREA CABARET PRESENTS 2006 / 2007 SEASON
Bay Area Cabaret (http://www.bayareacabaret.org/
), announces our 2006/2007 season of rare performances by nationally
renowned singers and songwriters. Presented in the elegant intimacy
of the MARINES MEMORIAL CLUB BALLROOMS (609 Sutter Street, San Francisco,
CA) the Sunday series kicks off on November 12th at 7:00 pm with award-winning
singer/ songwriter Amanda McBroom along with dazzling San Francisco
jazz singer Sony Holland. Broadway and recording star Karen Mason performs
a Valentine's Day show on February 4th, 2007, and the season closes
with Grammy and Tony-nominated artist Maureen McGovern on May 6th, 2007.
Tickets for all performances are $45 or $40. Tickets and subscriptions
for all three performances are now on sale at http://www.bayareacabaret.org/
and individual tickets are available at City Box Office 415-392-4400.
Amanda
McBroom makes her first San Francisco appearance in seven years on
Bay Area Cabaret¬s opening night. Her program will include a selection
of her original songs and selected gems from her concert repertoire.
Sony has built an ardent following and has played to packed houses
at top Bay Area jazz venues including Yoshi¬s, Pearl¬s, The Empire
Plush Room, The Carmel Jazz & Blues Company, 142 Throckmorton Theatre,
the Lesher Center, the San Francisco Jazz Summerfest, the Fillmore
Jazz Festival, the Sausalito Arts Festival, etc,
Bay Area Cabaret has previously presented Broadway legend
Barbara Cook, Broadway stars Marin Mazzie & Jason Danieley, Karen
Mason, Patricia Racette, Metropolitan Opera singer Karen Slack, and
jazz artist Ann Hampton Callaway. Founded in 2004 by Marilyn Levinson
(niece of the late James Schwabacher), Bay Area Cabaret is devoted
to presenting rare and elegant cabaret performances by nationally
acclaimed concert, stage and recording artists spanning repertory
from the Great American Songbook and Broadway, to jazz standards and
pop.
