SHARON MCNIGHT IN BETTY, BETTY, BETTE AT THE DUPLEX
THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) is very pleased to welcome Tony nominee, Sharon McNight, who will perform her acclaimed one-woman show, Betty, Betty, Bette, for 10 performances only, October 13th through 29th, Thursdays through Saturdays at 9:30 pm. There is also a special matinee performance on Sunday, October 23rd at 5:00 pm.

Betty, Betty, Bette premiered earlier this year at the San Francisco's The Plush Room, garnering rave reviews and a sold out run. In the piece, Sharon portrays three of the world's most famous Betty's: Bette Davis, Betty Grable and Betty Hutton. Sharon has released six solo CDs, the most recent of which are: Offensive Too, Volume Two which is the second CD of Songs To Offend Almost Everyone, a throwback to the party records of the 50s. In contrast is The Sophie Tucker Songbook, which contains the music of her one-woman show based the show business legend, which debuted at New York's Rainbow & Stars.

Another of Sharon's solo pieces, Red Hot Mama, was workshopped at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Lucille Lortel's White Barn Theatre, and finished a successful three-month run Off-Broadway at The York Theatre.

The singer/comedienne's regional credits include Amanda McBroom's Heartbeats at the Pasadena Playhouse, and an award-winning Dolly in Hello Dolly at the Peninsula Civic Light Opera. Sharon was Sister Hubert in Nunsense in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where she received the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for Best Performance in a Musical. She is a master teacher on the faculty of the Yale Cabaret Symposium.

Sharon is the recipient of six San Francisco Cabaret Gold awards, three Cable Car Awards, a MAC award, a Bistro award, and received a Nightlife Award from New York's critics for her musical comedy show, Ladies Compose Yourselves!
