) presents "Mayor & Company: Musical Theater Cabaret" on Saturday
& Sunday, November 13th & 14th at 3:00 pm, celebrating New York musical
theater of the 1970s and 80s, the fourth cabaret of the Museum's popular
Perform series is inspired by the new exhibition "New York Comes Back:
Mayor Ed Koch and the City."

the temper of the times, and sometimes offering a sharp political
probe. The stellar cast features Charles Strouse, award winning composer
of Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, and Mayor, and Broadway stars Brigid Brady
(The Phantom of the Opera), Andrea Burns (The Full Monty and Disney's
Beauty and the Beast), David Larsen (Good Vibrations), and T. Oliver
Reid (La Cage aux Folles and Thoroughly Modern Millie).
Written and directed by Michael Montel, with Lawrence Yurman as musical
director, the program includes songs by Stephen Sondheim, Roger Miller,
Kander and Ebb, and Bock and Harnick.
