SAM'S WORKERS AND FRIENDS RECORD CD TO BENEFIT GULF COAST
VICTIMS
A few years ago, the folks who work at SAM'S DREAM STREET CABARET
(263 West 45th Street, NYC - 212-719-5416) and their friends recorded
a CD with proceeds benefiting Equity Fight's AIDS, and was able to
raise $5,000 in only a month of selling it at Sam's during the Christmas
season. This time around they have recorded a CD called "Love Is On
The Way," doing it on a much larger scale.
Michael Walsh offered to donate ALL of the recording studio time,
and about 20 performers (local NYC talent ranging from bands to Broadway)
on the CD each donated their own money to go toward production costs.
100% of the proceeds are going to the Gulf Coast storm victims, primarily
through The Red Cross and Oprah's Angel Network. However some will
be going to smaller charities focusing on the harder hit areas that
The Red Cross and FEMA have not.
The CD is available for purchase for $20 at the restaurant, as well
