LUNGS, LIPS AND LOOPS AT THE BLUE HOURS
Songs, stories and scenes to savour "Lungs, lips, and live-loops" will be on show at this month's THE BLUE HOURS (113 Lindenmuth Way, New Greenham Park, Newbury Berkshire - 01635 522733 - http://www.cornexchangenew.co.uk/) when Askew and Avis hit the stage at New Greenham Arts on Friday, October 21st at 8:00 pm. Fresh from their performance at this year's Glastonbury Festival Askew and Avis will be treating the crowd to "a new art form" using no instruments except for their voices, and a loop making machine. The group will also be joined live onstage by DJ Robin Whitnell who will be recording, and looping the live vocals to create a soundscape of love and natural simplicity. You can expect the unexpected during the trio's live performance as many parts of the songs are improvised guaranteeing the audience that no two performances are ever the same.

Jeremy Avis has had a long and varied singing career performing in Congolese Pygmy camps, Pakistani Muezzins, and Boy band backing groups. Rebecca Askew is a singer and composer of contemporary jazz music who has organized two Jazz Service sponsored tours with her quintet; she has also worked with such names as legendary trumpeter and composer Kenny Wheeler. Barb Jungr will once again be hosting this popular monthly event featuring the self-assured trio who pronounce "what we do is unlike anything you have ever heard." New Greenham Arts is managed by The Corn Exchange, Newbury and funded by Greenham Common Trust.
