AMERICAN CLASSICS PRESENTS SIXTH ANNUAL CONCERT MUSICAL
American Classics (http://www.amclass.org/ ) will give their sixth annual IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) Award winning Musicals in Concert with Cole Porter's delightful high society romp, "50 Million Frenchmen" on Friday, November 11th and Sunday November 13th at THE LONGY SCHOOL (27 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA) and on Saturday, November 12th at FOLLEN COMMUNITY CHURCH (755 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA). Cole Porter wrote "50 Million Frenchmen in 1929," coming on the heels of his first major Broadway success, "Paris" in 1928. Classic Porter songs from the score include You Do Something to Me (with the famous "do do that voodoo that you do"), You've Got That Thing, and Find Me a Primitive Man, along with the comic I'm Unlucky at Gambling and the poignant You Don't Know Paree.

This production will restore some cut songs from the original score, including The Boy Friend Back Home and The Tale of the Oyster (now a cult favorite). The book is by Herbert Fields in his first of seven shows with Porter, and his first away from the team of Rodgers & Hart. The original cast featured Broadway stalwarts William Gaxton and Helen Broderick. The director was Monty Woolley, making his professional debut.

The cast will include American Classics favorites Valerie Anastasio, Eric Bronner, Peter A. Carey, Bradford Conner, Jim Jordan, Mary Ann Lanier, Sarah deLima, La'tarsha Long, Peter Miller, Joei Marshall Perry, Brent Reno, Benjamin Sears, and Ida Zecco.

For the second year in a row, American Classics will have a mother-daughter pairing as Sarah deLima is joined by a second daughter, this year's AC newcomer Kate deLima. Director is David Frieze, with Margaret Ulmer as music director and accompanist. Chorus Master is Bradford Conner. Pre-concert talk for all performances, one-half hour before the show.

Tickets are $30 - call 617-254-1125 or visit http://www.amclass.org/ for information & ticket purchase.
