STEVE TYRELL CELEBRATES THREE ROMANTIC WEEKS AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 1-212-339-4095 - http://www.feinsteinsattheregency.com/) celebrates the three most romantic weeks of the year with the return engagement of acclaimed jazz singer Steve Tyrell. Performances, which start on January 27th and lead up to two very special shows on Valentine's Day on February 14th, will play the following schedule: Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:30 PM with late shows on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 PM. All shows have a $60 cover and $30 minimum. Jackets are suggested, but not required.

Mr. Tyrell will be performing selections from his new album "This Guy's In Love," which continues the jazz standard bearer's remarkable return to the artistic side of his career in music. The title track cover of the Herb Alpert pop classic, which was penned by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, revitalizes Tyrell's close relationship with Bacharach, with whom Tyrell was partnered at the beginning of both their illustrious careers - and whom Tyrell now specially credits for his enduring friendship and inspiration. But the entire disc, which also includes the Bacharach-David gem "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" and such stellar standards as "I've Got A Crush On You," "Georgia On My Mind" and "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To," further solidifies Tyrell's quiet but steady rise to the top of contemporary pop.

Many music fans were introduced to Steve Tyrell via the 1991 Steve Martin hit movie Father of the Bride, in which he appeared and performed "The Way You Look Tonight" on the soundtrack, and its 1995 sequel Father of the Bride Part II, which contained his soundtrack recordings of "Give Me the Simple Life" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street." This led to A New Standard, Tyrell's first album of standards, which was released on Atlantic in 1999. Peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard jazz chart, the album stayed there for an incredible 84-week span.

A New Standard's surprise success paved the way for a follow-up set, Standard Time, which was Tyrell's 2001 Columbia label debut album. Reaching No. 2 in its second week of release, the album remains highly ensconced on the jazz charts now, two full years later. He suitably followed it last fall with the release of This Time of the Year, an album of Christmas and holiday classics. Its single, "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," was featured in the Disney hit film Santa Claus 2, and hit #11 on Billboard's A/C singles chart. In 2002, Billboard named Steve Tyrell the number 3 best selling Male Jazz Artist behind Tony Bennett and Harry Connick, Jr.

Steve Tyrell has achieved great success over the course of four decades as a songwriter, producer and performer. He is the author behind such pop hits as the chart-topping "How Do You Talk To An Angel" and producer of Linda Ronstadt's Grammy-winning "Don't Know Much" (a duet with Aaron Neville) and "Somewhere Out There" (a duet with James Ingram). He has worked with famed songwriters Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weill. He produced the Bacharach/David-penned "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," winner of the 1970 Academy Award for Best Song. He recently produced Jack Nicholson's singing performance in the new hit film Something's Gotta Give.
