THE STOREFRONT was founded in 2000 and has gone on to produce many celebrated theatre pieces. Most recently, The Storefront produced the critically-acclaimed revival of A.R. Gurney's LOVE LETTERS, featuring an all-star, rotating cast, which included Stephen Bogardus, Matt Bogart, Charles Busch, Jim Dale, Jerry Dixon, Daisy Eagan, Randy Graff, Mary Cleere Haran, Andrew Lippa, Tonya Pinkins, Lonnie Price and Rex Reed. Previously, The Storefront debuted a new version of the Schwartz/Strouse/Stein musical, RAGS, which starred Anne Runolfsson and Leslie Kritzer, amongst other successful projects.

NEW MONDAYS debuted in the summer of 2002, and has since presented music from over 100 composers, both up and coming and legendary. Among past New Mondays participants: Andrew Lippa, Bill Russell, William Finn, David Friedman, Carol Hall, Henry Krieger, Jason Robert Brown, John Bucchino, John Wallowitch, Joseph Thalken, Tom Jones, Julie Gold, Larry O'Keefe, Stephen Schwartz, Galt MacDermot, David Zippel, Michael John LaChiusa, Charles Strouse, Frank Wildhorn, Ricky Ian Gordon, Jay Leonhart, Susan Birkenhead, Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire and Liz Swados. Via the series, Storefront audiences have been the first to hear music from musicals such as Wicked, Moonstruck, Harold and Maude, Marty, R Shomon and Dracula. In 2003, The Storefront received both the Nightlife Award from the collected nightlife critics of New York, as well as the MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets) Award, on behalf of NEW MONDAYS.

The June 28th event promises to be a spectacular evening, filled with the talents of many brilliant composers and vocalists - all alumnus of the series. All proceeds will benefit The Storefront Theatre and specifically, the NEW MONDAYS series, so that the company may continue their work of debuting new work in front of live audiences. NEW MONDAYS IN CONCERT is produced and directed by Phil Geoffrey Bond, Founding Artistic Director of The Storefront.
