Rennie's Second Star to the Right Keeps Rising
21-year old
vocalist Shaun Rennie has returned to Australia from his appearances
at NY CABARET CONVENTION, at THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM and four sold-out
shows at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM for two new bookings, in Sydney and
Melbourne. Mr. Rennie will be appearing on Friday through Sunday,
February 6th through 8th at 8:00 pm at KABARETT VOLTAIRE at BAR ME
(230 William Street Potts Point, Sydney, AU - 02 9368 0894 - http://www.showtune.com.au/).
Then he moves to THE BUTTERFLY CLUB (204 Bank Street, South Melbourne
VIC - 03 96902000) Thursday through Saturday, February 12th through
14th, also at 8:00 pm.
Mr. Rennie
was awarded first prize at the 2003 Sydney Cabaret Convention, receiving
an air ticket and an invitation to perform at the 'Mabel Mercer Foundation
Cabaret Convention. Under the wing of musical director Christopher
Denny, Rennie and his show "Second Star to the Right" were greeted
with critical acclaim. The success and word of mouth from his convention
appearance and OAK ROOM show led Mr. Rennie to playing a further four
shows to packed houses at DANNY'S.
Having now
just returned home to Sydney, Mr. Rennie has already received an invitation
to return to the US in March for additional pre-booked shows, giving
him the opportunity to again heighten his growing international profile.
Shaun was
a regular performer on "Good Morning Australia", appeared in several
high profile TV commercials, sang the national anthem for televised
sports matches, attended the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA)
and toured nationally for 2 years in the Australian smash hit cast
of "Mamma Mia" in the role of 'Pepper.'
