LA CABARET COMMUNITY BANDS TOGETHER TO HELP A LOCAL LEGEND

On Sunday May 2, 2004, at 5:30 p.m., the cabaret community of Southern California will join together to celebrate A TRIBUTE TO MARY JO MUNDY at THE TEN20 at the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel (1020 North San Vincente Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 310-854-1111). The benefit gala, in which the public is invited to attend, will include a concert, buffet and silent auction. All proceeds will go to Mary Jo Mundy, the founder of L.A.'s oldest open mic venue for singers, the highly popular MUNDY ON TUESDAYS, held each Tuesday night at THE GARDENIA in West Hollywood. The goal for the event is to raise the $12,000 necessary for Mary Jo's laparoscopic bypass surgery. Admission to the party is a minimum contribution of $25.00, although guests are encouraged to dig as deeply into their pockets as possible.

Ms. Mundy will perform a 30-minute set at 7:00 pm. After the concert, singers will be able to, "put their mouth where their money is" by paying for the opportunity to sing a song for the crowd. Monies will also be raised through a silent auction, offering a variety of Hollywood-themed and cabaret-related memorabilia, including free singing classes, autographed scripts and the ability to "buy" a singer's services for a private party in your home.

Mary Jo Mundy's MUNDY ON TUESDAYS is a weekly gathering at Tom Rolla's THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444), one of the country's premiere cabaret venues. Each Tuesday night, singers meet to perform for each other, hone their acts, share war stories of life on the road and revel in the joy of music. Soon to celebrate its fourth year at the Gardenia, MUNDY ON TUESDAYS has nurtured and discovered many of the Southland's most popular cabaret artists.

For those who would like to contribute, but cannot attend, send all contributions (nothing is too large or too small) to:

THE MARY JO MUNDY FUND
c/o Renaissance Productions
6230 Wilshire Blvd. #1184
Los Angeles, CA 90048

The Executive committee of the event (in alphabetical order) is made up of Deborah Downey, Shelly Goldstein, Keri Kelsey, JD Kessler, Gregg Marx, Les Michaels, Rick Starr and Gina Zollman.
